Past Business Workshops

We’ve developed a number of workshops and seminars for business professionals, and it is our intention to develop more. In each case, our goal is to pick the issues for family and small businesses find the hardest to tackle—and then give them the resources they need to succeed.

We’re interested in coming to your community and repeating workshops your business community will find valuable. If you are interested, let us know.

How to Pass Your Business to the Next Generation
Held in Steinbach

Presented by Meyers Norris Penny and the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Steinbach Credit Union.

Because the first succession planning workshop was focused on the personal dynamics, this second one was focused on the nuts and bolts of succession. It covered legal issues, share structures, accounting questions, and tax implications.

Trimming Taxes

Reducing Small Business Taxes
Held in Steinbach

Presented in co-operation with Meyers Norris PennySmith Neufeld Jodoin LLPRoyal Bank, and RBC Dominion Securities.

Every business wants to pay the minimum amount in taxes. It you believe the news reports, some try to do it by lying or cheating. This isn’t a workshop for them.

It’s a workshop for businesses who are willing to pay what they legitimately owe—and not a penny more. And, it turns out, being honest pays in the long run. (At least it does with taxes. And maybe on other issues too.)
