Spurring Green Business Growth

While the biomass heating system is an important step forward for Providence, our larger goal as the Buller Centre is to help develop the green business sector. Growth of the green economc sector—especially alternative energy production—has the potential to provide significant economic benefits to rural Manitoba.

Green Business Projects On Our Horizon

In additon to Biomass Brokerage and Le Couloir Vert Rural Transit, green projects on the horizon at the Buller Centre include:

• finding an alternative to the municipal landfill for the organic waste from Providence’s commercial kitchen
• determining the viability of cattails as a biomass source
• finding markets for biochar
• seeing if biomass ash can be sold
