We’ve taken a number of steps to make Providence more environmentally responsible, many of them sparked through the Buller Centre and involving Providence Business Administration students. These initiatives include biomass heating for the campus, the Biomass Brokerage, and involvement in 50by30.

One of the most recent was the eWaste initiative taken by students in the Winter 2013 Non-Profit Management class.

Following research of available alternatives, students worked with Providence’s Facilities Department to collect eWaste from students, staff, faculty, and our IT department, diverting more than 30 items of eWaste destined for the landfill and took them to the Eastman Recycling Services in Steinbach.

Green business ideas in development include La Connexion Rural Rural Transit.

The PowerPoint below outlines a full range of environmental initiatives at Providence.
